ibg Prüfcomputer GmbH develops, produces and sells devices and systems for non-destructive materials testing. Test systems based on the magnetic induction method for detecting structural defects and the eddy current method for detecting surface defects on metallic workpieces are offered. In addition to the test electronics and test probes, ibg supplies turnkey testing machines including the complete handling technology from inhouse special machine construction. Important customer groups are the roller bearing industry, the automotive and automotive supply industry, the semi-finished products industry, smithing, hardening shops and the electronics industry. As a company, ibg was founded based on the development for the magnetic-inductive microstructural testing by company founder Herbert Baumgartner in 1982. Through the development of preventive multi-frequency technology, the company soon gained a leading position in magnetic induction testing technology. Later, the offer was rounded off by eddy current testing systems to detect surface defects such as cracks and grinding burns. Company location with development, production and sales is Ebermannstadt in the german area of Upper Franconia. The establishment of distribution subsidiaries in the USA, Switzerland and Great Britain as well as the worldwide partner network strengthened the international orientation.
