Assembly systems for sensors are small to medium-sized assembly machines with up to 25 stations. The customer-specific assembly lines for assembly, calibration and final inspection of electronic sensor components and sensor assemblies have a high degree of automation and short cycle times of less than 10 seconds. Rotary tables and longitudinal transfer linkage systems are used. Typical assembly processes include joining by press-fitting and screwing, resistance welding and laser-metal welding as well as glueing and dosing. Injection molding processes, for example for encapsulating sensor heads and plug housings, are often integrated. Cutting to length, stripping, stripping and crimping are important process steps for cable processing. In addition to image processing systems, end-of-line tests, test processes with long cycle times and component markings are possible. User industries are the automotive supply industry and factory automation. Typical workpieces are speed sensors, angle sensors, acceleration sensors and sensor clusters, pressure sensors, temperature sensors, lambda probes, ultrasonic sensors, radar sensors and camera sensors. Sensors are versatile components for the detection of physical or chemical measurands. After the quantitative or qualitative detection, the application-specific converter outputs an analogue electrical signal. In relation to the input variable of the sensor, this signal can be interpreted by the controller. Sensors can be divided into passive and active sensors. Further distinctions are possible on the basis of the measurement methods (mechanical, thermoelectric, resistive, piezoelectric, capacitive, inductive, photoelectric, magnetic) and resolution (temporal, spectral, radiometric, geometric). Sensors are used, for example, in the industrial environment and in vehicles. Typical car variants are camshaft sensors, crankshaft angle sensors, wheel speed sensors, axle load sensors, lambda probes, blind angle sensors, distance sensors / proximity sensors, tank level sensors, internal temperature sensors and rain sensors. Smart sensors and radio sensors are available as variants. Sensors are also referred to as readings recorders, signal elements, sensors and transducers.
