Snap-fit Joining

Typical Assembly Applications

Snap connections are functional elements for releasable and non-detachable, simple form-fitting joining of components. In this case, a joining part deforms elastically and then entangles detachably or non-releasably. There is thus a form-closure. There are different versions: snap hook, ball joint ("snap ball"), ring snap connections ("snap cylinder"). In the case of snap connections, the elasticity of the materials, mostly plastics or spring steel, is utilized for the connection of two components. They are used to a large extent in industrial mass production in the automotive sector and the consumer goods industry, where through integration of functions significant savings are made in assembly processes.
