Automatic testing and sorting machines are used for fully automatic non-contact geometry testing with high accuracy and for quality control of small bulk goods with at least one stable conveying position. The sorting machines are application-specific, designed for a specific partial spectrum. Through the programmability of the image processing system diverse evaluation options are offered. The sorting machines may also include other tasks such as structural testing. Fields of application are the 100% control in the production, the incoming goods inspection as well as the sorting and packing of small parts. Test specimens are turning parts, stamped and pressed parts or molded parts with a stable component position such as screw-nuts, screws, threaded bushes, ring washers and molded parts with a wide variety of geometries. Within a given part spectrum the testing machines are freely programmable. A sorting machine usually consists of the base frame, a storage bunker with a feeder, separating device and complete handling systems for small parts as well as the image processing system with cameras, lighting, evaluation electronics, software and operating unit. Sorting machines are used in a variety of industries, including the automotive supply and electronics industries as well as stamping shops, turning shops and screw manufacturers.
