Description:

Customer-specific heavy assembly systems for motor assembly are used for the semi-automatic and fully automated assembly of heavy vehicle assemblies such as fuselage engines. The application area is the pre-assembly and final assembly of automotive aggregates in monitored and documented quality with standard component weights of up to 250 kg. Higher weights are possible depending on application. Typical mounting assemblies are fuselage engines (engine blocks), cylinder heads, converters, couplings, planetary gear sets and control units for manual and automatic transmissions. The systems are based on a workpiece carrier transfer system with free circulation, comprise all the necessary feeding, linking and handling devices and are built on welded base frames. Robots are also used for handling. The stations are used for joining for example by screwing and press-in operations. Furthermore, the systems comprise measurement and test tasks, such as presence and assembly checks, leak tests or electromechanical function tests. It is possible to integrate both automatic stations as well as manual workplaces which are designed to prevent mistreatment in the production process.
Heavy assembly systems for motor assembly by Kiener are developed and supplied as turnkey customer-specific solutions. As far as possible, the systems are realized with modular components in the desired degree of automation. A flexible design for changing products or product variants is possible. The user industry is the automotive and automotive supply industry.
