Terminals are used in electrical engineering for the construction of detachable connections. They are available as cost-effective alternatives to plug connectors in numerous variants and ensure trouble-free contact. Typical examples are screw terminals, series clamps, spring clamps, magnetic clamps, shield clamps, feed terminals, book clamps and insulation clamps. Several terminals can be electrically connected via a bridge clamp. To simplify the connections, the terminal designation in the motor vehicle sector is regulated according to DIN 72552. There are many applications, for example to the voltage supply, to the ignition system or to motors or generators. Beyond the automotive industry, industrial machinery and equipment, clamps are used in a variety of industries.
